USAGE & CLEANING:
We recommend washing your silk pillowcase on a gentle, cool cycle (or hand-washing) with pH neutral liquid detergent. Wash weekly or as needed. Dry in the shade. Do not tumble dry. They can be dry cleaned with any dry cleaning solvent except for trichloroethylene. Always read the care label for cleaning/washing instructions.

Silk is naturally hypoallergenic and less absorbent than cotton, meaning it won’t trap oils, dirt, or bacteria that can lead to breakouts. It’s a great option for sensitive or acne-prone skin.

Silk quality can vary greatly in thickness, weight, and density. We mentioned that both our pillowcases and scrunchies are made using 6A, 22-Momme Mulberry silk, which means it’s the highest quality of silk available on the market.
The Momme number is a similar metric to thread count in cotton - it describes the silk’s weight and density, and can range anywhere between 11 to 25 Momme. However, unlike with cotton, the higher number doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best product for its practical use. For example, 25-Momme is often used for curtains, so it wouldn’t be appropriate for clothing or bedding. That’s why we’ve found that 22-Momme is the perfect balance for clothes, bedding or other products like our pillows and scrunchies!
